Managing Products
Learn how to add, edit, and organize products in your WellQuote catalog.
Your product catalog is the foundation of fast quoting. Once your products are set up, creating quotes becomes as simple as selecting items and quantities.
Adding Products
To add a new product:
- Navigate to Settings → Products
- Click Add Product
- Fill in the product details:
- Name: What you call this product
- Description: Details that appear on quotes
- Unit Price: The standard selling price
- Unit: How you sell it (each, per hour, per meter, etc.)
- Click Save
Organizing with Categories
As your catalog grows, categories help keep things organized:
- Create categories like “Services,” “Materials,” or “Equipment”
- Assign products to categories when creating or editing them
- Filter by category when adding items to quotes
Bulk Import
Have a lot of products to add? Use the import feature:
- Download the CSV template from the Products page
- Fill in your product data in the spreadsheet
- Upload the completed file
- Review and confirm the import
Updating Prices
When prices change:
- Find the product in your catalog
- Click to edit
- Update the price
- Save
Existing quotes won’t be affected - they keep the price from when the quote was created.
Tips for a Great Catalog
- Be consistent with naming - makes searching easier
- Write clear descriptions - customers will see these on quotes
- Keep prices up to date - avoid surprises when quoting
- Use categories - even with 50+ products, you’ll find things quickly
